Service
Managed support retainer
An on-call team for a fraction of a senior DBA's salary.
The problem
Hiring a senior DBA full time is expensive and, most of the month, underused. Having nobody means every incident is handled by whoever is available at emergency rates. The retainer sits in between: guaranteed hours, a defined SLA and a team that already knows your environment.
How we work
- 1
Onboarding
Environment inventory, access, contacts and escalation procedure, documented in a shared runbook.
- 2
Monthly operations
Hour bank for incidents, changes, questions and small improvements. Monthly report of consumption and activities.
- 3
Severity-based SLA
Defined response times: critical, high, medium, low. Direct channel through WhatsApp Business and email.
- 4
Quarterly review
We adjust the hour bank and priorities based on what you actually used.
Frequently asked questions
What happens to unused hours?
It depends on the contract. Typically a portion rolls over to the next month up to a cap. We define it in the quote.
Do you cover weekends and holidays?
Critical severities yes, under the agreed SLA. Everything else is handled during Ecuador business hours, which match US Eastern and Central.
Can we use the hours for a project?
Yes, for small and medium changes. Large projects (migrations, new applications) are quoted separately as fixed-scope projects.
Is there a minimum?
Yes, a monthly minimum that makes the SLA possible. Request a quote for your case.
